Set up in 2014, Defyne Aesthetics based in Preston is run by Dr Pinar Akman and Kate Huddleston. The Preston Clinic has been set up to meet the highest standards. We have received training in the field of aesthetic medicine with recognised training centres, our laser is the latest piece of technology and our premises comply with the laser safety regulations. We have chosen the latest equipment and best products available and combined these with outstanding training, motivation and expertise
Moving on to Aesthetic Medicine was a natural step. As a dentist, Pinar has an excellent understanding of the features of the face. Through Pinar’s time as an Aesthetic Practitioner she has undertaken various courses and master classes in the use of anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal fillers, skin tightening treatments and skin peels, making her a master practitioner.
Pinar is passionate about taking on forward thinking treatments and using them to combat the natural aging process and environmental hazards that our skin faces. As the clinical director at the Preston Clinic, she makes sure we are always at the forefront of science and development.
Pinar is a keen reader and loves to do all her DIY herself.
Kate loves the fact that our clinic can help people feel their best and rather than changing someone’s appearance simply enhancing their natural beauty and confidence. In her past life Kate has been a Programme Co-ordinator at the Fire Service for 10 years, working with the community helping people to reshape their lives. With Kate’s previous work experience as a qualified manager and quality assurance practitioner, she ensures very high safety standards are maintained. In her spare time she loves playing with her children, looking for new adventures and refurbishing old furniture.
Kate is keen to keep fit and cook delicious meals.
Nicola has honed her skills as a laser practitioner with us at Defyne Aesthetics, to address various skin concerns and provide clients with tailored solutions.
In Nicola’s spare time she enjoys going to the gym, running and has just taken up golf.

Currently, Christine practices within GP surgeries, where her ability to put patients at ease is a testament to her empathetic and caring nature. She thrives on the opportunity to positively impact her patients’ lives by helping them look and feel their best.
She specialises in treatments such as anti wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, where her meticulous attention to detail ensures safe and effective results. Her clients appreciate her ability to create natural-looking enhancements, enhancing their features without losing their individuality.
Outside of her professional life, Christine enjoys an active lifestyle. Her hobbies include dog walking with her spaniel which she rescued, going to the gym and swimming which allow her to unwind and ensure that she prioritises her fitness and well – being.
Christine’s life revolves around a harmonious balance of professional and personal pursuits. Her commitment to making people feel great through aesthetics, along with her love for self-care and relaxation, makes her an ideal practitioner for anyone seeking transformative, yet subtle enhancements. Page has completed a Level 3 Business Administration course to improve her skills and broaden her knowledge.
Before becoming a receptionist Page spent years working with children. Page developed a remarkable ability to connect with people on a personal level. Her previous experience equipped her with patience, empathy, and a keen understanding of the importance of creating a comfortable and nurturing environment. These qualities became the cornerstone of her success as a receptionist where the emphasis on client comfort and satisfaction is paramount.
Page loves travelling. Her favourite trip was when she ventured to America where she worked on a summer camp and cared for the camp America director’s children.
Our laser is safe and super-efficient on pale white skin as well as coloured skin of all shades, robust skin on the back as well as sensitive skin of the face. This makes this laser so unique and universal at the same time. We can deliver very high energy outputs with amazing results without actually harming the skin. This is also the main difference between a laser and a much more common IPL machine. IPL machines deliver lower level energy of a wider spectrum. Therefore there will always be “collateral damage” of the skin and less efficiency within the actual target, whether it is a hair follicle, a vein or a birthmark.
