Cosmetic lip filler is offered only to adults aged 18 or over after individual assessment. Tell us about previous filler, allergies, medicines, cold sores, pregnancy or breastfeeding and any current skin or dental problems. Treatment may be postponed or declined where it is not appropriate.

What happens at a lip filler consultation?

Your practitioner reviews your medical history and anatomy, explains the proposed hyaluronic acid filler and amount, and discusses alternatives, expected results, risks, cost and aftercare. You can ask questions and take time to decide. We do not assume everyone needs a full millilitre.

Recovery, results and important risks

Swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur, and the immediate appearance is not the settled result. Avoid booking immediately before an important event. Results and their duration vary with the product and individual.

Complications can include infection, lumps and filler blocking a blood vessel, potentially damaging tissue; visual complications are also possible. Severe or increasing pain or unusual skin colour changes require urgent clinical assessment. Any sudden visual symptoms require emergency medical help.
