IBSA’s hyaluronic acid is an ultrapure grade hyaluronic acid, produced through a patented bio-fermentation process, of Streptococcus Zooepidemicus, which ranks worldwide as “top quality” in terms of purity, safety and its high resistance to thermal production processes.
Hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin leaving no trace. Patients can expect increased firmness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of the skin with the effects lasting six months.
This depends upon the degree of correction required, your age and lifestyle as well as the correct placement of the product by a practitioner.
Two treatments sessions are usually recommended initially, with a 1-month interval in between. Top ups and maintenance treatments can then be prescribed by your practitioner according to your body’s response to treatment.
Some side effects that can occur (but are very rare) are, redness, pain, itching, discolouration or tenderness at the implant site.

STAGES OF PROFHILO TREATMENT
We advise that you don’t drink any alcohol during the 24 hours before your treatment. We also advise that you avoid using aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs a couple of days before your treatment (unless they are taken for a chronic medical condition). Avoiding these medications will reduce your risk of bruising at the point of injection. Ask your medical practitioner if you have any concerns.
Profhilo treatment only gives you minor discomfort. The treatment comprises of 5 injections per side. The area is cleansed and numbed prior to this. Immediatly afterwards you will notice moderate redness. Usually all signs of the treatment disappear within a few minutes. The injections feel like a little sting and last about 10 seconds per injection. If you ever had filler treatment before you will be surprised at the mild sensation. If you never had filler treatment before you can compare the experience to a dental numbing injection when it is done nice and gently.
You can have Profhilo treatment and continue with your day to day activities. However, we do advice you avoid wearing makeup, except for Youngblood mineral make up, which we can apply in clinic after your treatment. We also recommend that you do not go to the gym, sauna’s, steam-rooms or swimming on the same day as treatment; and avoid touching the injection site.
